O My Bestii

You are there, I am here
In the past, we were together somewhere.
Back then nothing could keep us apart,
But now let's consider the distance for a start.
Earlier it was less thinking, more talking
And now thinking is more than talking.
Oh! My heart, don't grieve
For what the eyes don't see.
Why I sound so sad
Even when our friendship is not that bad.
The distance has made us stronger.
More we bond as the meeting time gets longer.
It is fun how we steal time
To meet at your place or mine.
Every time is just great.
Almost forgetting the truth of our state.
We can have fun for only a day or two
But you keep a list of the stuff we can do.
I know you are optimist
Like strong light perforating my dark mist.
You say, "I agree that talking is less,
But when we do it is endless".
You must know ' You are my best friend '
And we must walk together the life path till the end.

Strangers To Friends

Few old friends, few new people and I
Like chain links kept free.
People with new faces
Pleasantly welcomed me at different places.
Long distance were shortened by our talks,
Talks in disguise were building blocks.

Trek to the Double Living Root Bridge
Had about 3k stairs - each of height 4 inch.
At the destination, our legs became wobbly
And our empty stomachs started making noise slowly.
The villagers were kind and good,
They gave us food and we had it as if it were a loot.
Under the bridge, the river was shallow
We sat soaking our feet as the fish were kissing us hello.
We played with water like school kids
Chain links inched closer bit by bit.

The next stop was Mawsmai Cave
There also we let the school kids behave.
Made our way in the dark
A head collision made a laughter spark.
Singing, chatting, laughing we went back.
In our hotel, we played cards back to back.
Next day we were at the Bangladesh border,
Interacted with and learnt stories from a soldier.
Both sides had same soldiers in different uniform,
We salute their love for the countries they are born.

Our journey took us to Dawki's Umngot,
Clear water makes it a tourist spot.
We took our boats
And stopped by big river stones.
We bathed, swam and then camped
Near the river on the sand.
Bonfire, cool breeze and rum
Oh! Nothing was humdrum.

The group had a comedian, a guitarist, a fast n furious driver, a shy guy,
A poetess, two card lovers, a singer and I.
Once I had a trip
Started with strangers, ended with friends.

The Night Was Scary Without You

Part-1

The flight was on time and so was I,
But I knew you were not nearby.
I was so excited to feel lonely,
It was supposed to be a short wait only.
I came alone, waited alone,
There were people around but I talked to none.
I looked left, then right, then I looked at the roof,
Reading all the posters and advertisements in a loop.
I watched people come and go,
Trying to understand the stories I didn't know.
                                            I came alone, waited alone,
There were people around but I talked to none.
I finally called a friend,
It brought my silence to an end.
Well talking is better than waiting,
Clock pendulum oscillating.
I came alone, waited alone,
There were people around but I talked to none.
                                            Waiting was not a torture,
                                            Until came an officer.
He told me that the airport must be closed,
I went blank as I was shocked.
                                            I came alone, waited alone,
There were people around but I talked to none.

The Night Was Scary Without You

Part-2

Standing at the gate,
For the first time I wished you were not late.
Night seemed so dark and cold,
Afraid of any new twist next moment may unfold.
I came alone, waited alone,
There were no people around and I could talk to none.
                                               Waiting room was big,
Not big enough to make me sit.
Fear, anxiety was all I felt,
Introspection of my decisions made me sweat.
                                               I came alone, waited alone,
There were no people around and I could talk to none.
What made me so scared I thought,
May be I was haunted by the pessimistic ghost.
You were also tensed,
Pressing your car throttle to maximum, I sensed.
I came alone, waited alone,
There were no people around and I could talk to none.
Finally, you came and others too,
I made a quick prayer, "God, Thank You!".
Shouting, "Do you have any clue,
The night was scary without you!".
                                               I came alone, waited alone,
There were no people around and I could talk to none.
